Ok, so I try not to hand out 5 stars for just anything, but the gelato at this place is nothing short of amazing. The best ice cream type treat anywhere around (and I've tried quite a few.) They have a ton of amazing flavors and I've never had anything that wasn't fantastic. You won't be disappointed. The girls that work here are so nice and are happy to mix flavors together for you and let you try whatever you'd like. The highlights for me are banana, nutella, tiramisu, and white chocolate raspberry. They also have gelato cakes and cannoli here that are really delicious. Go there. Do it.

This is the best gelato place in the area without a doubt and the best I've ever had. It was creamy and smooth. The perfect texture and the employees are always pleasant and helpful. They always give you as many tastes as you'd like and I haven't had a bad flavor yet.

I really enjoyed Dolce Gelato Cafe. The cafe truly reminds me of a gelato cafe one would find in Italy. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and certainly Italian. They had both classic and unique flavors of delicious gelato. I personally tried the Pistachio, Nutella, Coffee, and Cassata. All flavors were excellent, but the Cassata stood out with the chunks of cake throughout. Dolce also sells gelato cakes, cassata cakes, croissants, and coffee beverages. The atmosphere is truly Italian with small tables to enjoy your gelato or espresso and Italian Serie A soccer on the TV. Overall, a great experience. Mangia!

I'm addicted to their home made gelato. Favorite flavors: Setteveli (hazlenut, rum, chocolate, rice krispies, cake) and Cassata (cake, pistachio and an almond flavor). They are soooooo good. big chunks of cake in both those flavors. They have lots of other gelato flavors of course, but those are my favorite and I am never disappointed!

They have the best homemade gelato in the metro Detroit area. Plenty flavors to choose from. The service wasn't that great. My group ordered a few gelato's as well as two cappucinos. We were given lukewarm cappuccinos. Seriously? I wish I had said something but they had a few customers waiting in line and we were in a hurry to get somewhere. Besides that, I would have rated them five stars instead of four. Hopefully next time they don't disappoint.

Wish they had a store closer to where I live on the west side of Detroit. Their gelato is as good or better than what I've enjoyed in Sicily and Naples. Molto bravo!

If you love Gelato or want to go back to your Italian roots, then check this awesome place out. The atmosphere is Italian, Italian, Italian and I love it, since I am Italian myself!! They have a large selection of fresh geltao from fruity to rich chocolate and everything in between. The staff is very friendly and patient and they let you sample each one as many times as you want so you make the right decision, which can be hard because they are so good. But, do not worry, you can always do half and half or 3 scoops of 3 different kinds...etc. The servings are generous and they offer a variety of scoops and sizes. Besides geltao they have a bakery with cakes, cannolis, cookies, and other treats for your sweet tooth. They also have fresh coffee and other drinks. The Tvs are always playing sports and other news (in Italian of course) It's very comforting. They also have a few tables where you can sit inside or outside and enjoy whatever treats you are going to gobble up. I actually get very excited when we are on that side of town because I know we will be visiting for a nice, comforting treat.

Its Gelato is delicious!! I didn't taste any artifical flavor in it..everything taste so real and fresh! I really like its Hazelnut chocolate and rasberry flavor gelato. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars here because the service. When i first walked in, there was NO ONE at the counter and the person who was serving gelato was not attentive and let other ppl cut in my line. But overall, the quality of gelato is excellent!

Excellent! I took my children out for an afternoon treat, this was our first time trying gelato. Everyone loved it. So fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely return!

Service was quick, but it was a week night so they weren't busy at all. The gelato is all homemade and very tasty. We tried the chocolate, tiramisu, and nutella flavors. Very sweet but refreshing. Will definitely be going back to try their other flavors. They have a good selection of cakes in the back that I'm definitely going to try, too.

This is a very important spot for my fiancé and I as it was the perfect first date place in the summer 2010, and has been a staple in out romantic celebrations since. This cozy café with patio chairs has an excellent assortment of real gelato, and they always have a new flavor to feature. There are sometimes a few Italians hanging out on the patio but it is a very inviting place, legit gelato (a rarity), easy to locate, and certainly affordable. I can only comment on the espresso, which was smooth, not too bitter, and had the perfect amount of amazingly wonderful crema. The woman at the counter wasn't very friendly, but who cares, the coffee was the whip.

Ever since my favorite Gelato place went out of business I've been on the look out for a new one. Then I found this place! The Gelato is wonderful. Sure, there isn't 50 flavors like the other place but in all honesty it was usualy incredibly difficult to pick one. We had to go 3 times a week until I felt satisfied. Sometimes they were a little less than fresh, and it would be gooey. At Dolce Gelato they have about 15 flavors. Which made me feel good knowing they'd be fresh and that there's never going to be one I miss on certain days. First I sampled the Nutella flavor and honestly it was flavorless. I'm glad I sampled it first! I ordered my old standbys, the cappuccino and tiramisu flavors. They packed it an a pint with the different flavors side by side not all smashed in on top of each other. The cappuccino was good, great creamy texture not overly sweet. Good coffee taste. The tiramisu was very fresh but overly sweet and tasted like eggnog, now i love eggnog and all but it's not what I was expecting, -should have sampled it first. My husband got a pint of Banana and a Strawberry & Guava flavor. I liked the banana out of the two, reminded me of banana yogurt, a light refreshing taste. The other was his favorite and it tasted like a real fruit sorbet only in creamy Gelato form! Very good. We will defiantly be back.

The housemade gelato here is fantastic with amazing fresh-tasting flavor choices. There's always a huge variety of flavor choices (the Nutella is a ridiculously sweet and delicious treat) and they also have some ice cream, pastries and espresso. Not the cheapest, but this stuff is so rich and decadent that you don't need a huge bowl to satisfy your craving for something cool, sweet and delicious...

I have never had any type of gelato short of wonderful here. The atmosphere is fantastic-- on any given day you feel as if you've been transported to Italy with futbol on TV, and older men drinking espresso and chatting in Italian. Their homemade gelato is all divine, my personal favorites being the white chocolate raspberry and the strawberry. Their canolli's are also off the hook (they're filled fresh when you order them) and generally only $.99 for a large one. All in all, Dolce Gelato is always a great (and great tasting) experience.

Finally, a place in Michigan that is deserving of the title "gelato" for its ice cream! It's hard to find good gelato in the U.S., but this place pulls it off. Not perfect, but "as good as it gets" (or at least as good as I've had) when it comes to this side of the pond. Try the setteveli if you like chocolatey and crispy goodness in ice cream.

My absolute favorite place, I crave it so many times a week. I enjoy mixing their white chocolate raspberry gelato with the straciatella. I've also purchased one of their gelato cakes, it was more expensive than most cakes I buy, but very worth it.
